On December 15, the Hungarian Chamber of Architects<\/strong> (M\u00c9K) and the
Hungarian Association of Architects<\/strong> (M\u00c9SZ) presented their joint diploma awards<\/strong>.
The M\u00c9K\u2013M\u00c9SZ Diploma Award is one of the most important professional recognitions<\/strong> independent of universities, evaluating the work of outstanding designers graduating in the field of landscape architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the thesis\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c1rp\u00e1d Zsolt Bartha’s thesis<\/strong> deals with an area of downtown Sepsiszentgy\u00f6rgy<\/strong> that was functionally uncertain, largely used as a parking lot, and had difficulty finding its place in the urban fabric. The situation of the area is particularly complex: historical layers, institutional environment, urban structural transitions, and intense conflicts of use are all present at the same time.

The greatest strength of the plan is <\/strong>that it provides a<\/strong> high-quality, professionally coherent<\/strong>, and sensitive response <\/strong>to these complex challenges. Rather than forcing new elements, it reinterprets the existing urban character to create a space that fits naturally into the surrounding urban fabric.

The thesis was written at the Department of Garden and Open Space Design of the Institute of Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning and Garden Art at the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences<\/strong> (MATE).

As a supervisor, this recognition is particularly important to me, as the M\u00c9K\u2013M\u00c9SZ Diploma Award is not an internal institutional evaluation, but an independent, high-level professional assessment.
