The well with its surroundings symbolizes the urban man’s relationship to nature. The shadoof was once part of the daily life cycle. The people of those days lived in much greater harmony with their surroundings, with nature. They knew it, they felt all of its little change. But something has changed… This harmonic relationship is broken, ever we have less understanding of its operation, and we are less and less aware of its signs, its desperate warning. With the misinterpretation of the more and more frequent weather anomalies, we are considering the changes as a kind of “attack” as if nature is direct wants to screw us up. However, we continue to do everything in the same way than before… We even raise higher dams, we drill even deeper wells for clean water and we carry it in plastic bottles. By doing so, water is no longer taken from the ground, but from a PET bottle!
