I am delighted to announce that I have been named one of the five finalists for the 2026 Landscape Architect of the Year Award. The winner will be announced at the Landscape Architect of the Year Award Gala, which begins at 5:00 p.m. on May 14, where the finalists will also face off in the final round of competition
The title of the portfolio I prepared for the competition is: Designing with Time-Varying Systems. In the portfolio [Balázs Almási Portfolio LAY 2026], I have selected works from various fields over the past few years: from family home gardens, public spaces, memorial sites, educational and research projects, as well as artistic and installation works.
For me, the central idea behind this project is that landscape architecture is not about creating static forms, but rather about shaping systems that evolve over time. In my work, I seek to achieve a harmony between ecological function, aesthetic quality, and sustainable use.
