“When I look out of the kitchen window at home, it’s usually the garden and the birds on the apple tree that make me happy. I also peek out during a family conversation to see what my little friends are up to. One day, however, I noticed that the birds were not in their usual place, the view was incomplete. I asked my mum where the birds had gone. She said they had run out of sunflower seeds…”

Within the framework of the Drawing and Visual Communication 2 course, we regularly create small and large installations together with the landscape architecture and garden art students. In 2020, we were approached by the Municipality of Budapest to participate in a project on the promotion of sustainable development of urban forests within the framework of the EU Interreg Danube Transnational Programme URBforDAN 2020.

We have created installation concepts for the regeneration of a neglected forest area on the side of the Harmashatar hill. Among the many exciting ideas, we chose the Bird Gallery, which was finally realised in the Buda Arboretum instead of the originally planned forest for nature conservation reasons.
